I have made research about my topic, which is the affect of video games on children. One thing that I found in a wedsite was that video games change our children's behavior. They become more aggresive when they play games, then when they just doing homework or play other type of games that are not videos. Our childrens are the main kind of people who are affected by video games. It is not their fault but their parents. That is something which I think is true. Looking for information has not been easy for me. Everything that I find is basically the samething but in different words. I want good information that could support my topic. Other than that I think I am doing well !

Topics for Gaming Research!

For my research I would like to do it about how games affect kids personality. Most of the times when they play video games their personality change a lot. I would also like to do it on why people get so addicted when they play games. I would talk about the negatives effects of games on kids. I dont really think they have many positive effects on the young ones.

Field Trip Report

On Wednesday my classmade and I went on a trip. The first stop was Toys R' us. The one in 42 street. They have many different type of games for every age. From new borns to old people. The types of games they have are video games, toys, dolls (Barbies and many other dolls). The things that we had to do there was look around to see the difference between all the games they have. My favorite games were the video games. They have the nintendo DS. I always wanted to get one, but some of the games they have are not the type of games that I like to play. The store also have accesories with characters from the games. That way kids would like to have them and parents need to buy for their child. I really liked going there. It reminded me when I was a child, with all the games and dolls they have. One thing I really liked was the Barbie house. I think it was adorable how they have all the dolls for little girls, they cost a lot of money too. The second stop was Game stop. There they have so many games that I didnt even know which one to play. All the games they had on the displays that we could play were for boys. I dont like the games about killing people. The type of games I like are girly ones and Mario. I played Nintendo Wii. It was wierd but I kinda liked it a little. One thing that I saw at Game Stop is that all the people that were there were boys and man about 40 years old playing video games. I found it wierd that grown up man were there in the morning trying new games. I enjoy the trip very much! =]

Club Fair

I think the club fair was very interesting. I spoke to the club about break dance and sing language. I really wanted to enjoy the sing language club, but their hours dont go with my schedule. A club that seem interesting was the break dancing one. Im not into hiphop that much, but I like to watch people brake dancing. I did not join any of the clubs, even though I wanted to.

Gee Article

I think games is a way for students to learn more in class. I agree with Gee when he say that games could be something schools should use so students could learn more. One thing which I see is that when we want to teach something is better if we do it playings games. I remember my sophomore year of high school. In my science class, we had to learn about fossils and we had to play games pretending to find fossils. We had to follow the teacher's rules and also learn the diffent names of the fossils. In a way I think the game helped me in the class because I memorized the names of the things I was using. If teachers do games it would be easier for students to learn stuff. Not only easier, but they HAVE TO memorize it. Also in this class I have learn how to play games. Before I did not know or like video games. But now that I have to play games in the class I'm more into games than before. Gee says that games is a way for people to value things. I think this is true, when someone is playing a game, they want to do the best to win the game. Games also make people get addited. This could be a good reason for schools to use games as a way or teaching, because the more games the students play, the more they will learn.

Cluster !

I really like been part of this cluster. I have learn a lot about movies, media and games. One thing which i enjoy is been able to play games in the class and watch movies. I think that movies and games teach us a lot. One thing which is challenging for me is my media communication mid-term paper. It is hard to find good information about an icon on the internet and also books. Plus the paper is a way too long. I know that by doing this paper is a way to teach us how to write better than what we already do, but finding the information that most of us find is the samething. Another thing which I learn was about movies. The different words that directors use when they are filming a movie. I enjoy watching most of the movies from the film class, I cant lie some of them arent that good and make me want to sleep. I also liked the day when we played games. Im not a big fan of games, but my eng class is making me want to play more games and learn more about them. Over the next weeks I expect a lot of writting and a presentation that needs to be done. If I put a lot of effort I know Im going to be able to do all the things my teachers want me to do!

Game Play Simulation

When we say the word play the first thing that comes to mind is a video game, or a play like the one we could go and see in Broadway. In my opinion play means to do something with movement. When we use the word game we mean something active. A thing that we could have fun with for example video games or the games people do when they a child. I know when I see a game because I know how games look like and I also like to play them. Games need a lot of thinking. When we play something we put our brain to work. Simulation is an imitation or presentation we do in our head. When we see a new game, we do not know how to play it. But after we get to know how to play a game we get better and could be able to be an expert.
